Great pic! It reminds me of the kind of photo you would find on the ‘Meet the Beatles for Real’ site which has an array of snapshots of the Fabs taken with/by fans.

I have a close friend who saw all that Penny Lane stuff in action in the early 70s.
That’s the thing I love about Beatle instagrammers- a lot of who are young too- they find so many rare hidden gems. I don’t know where they find them but I love seeing the rare or candid photos of the Beatles and co that aren’t the images seen a hundred times before because they usually make me feel like I’ve learnt something about them I didn’t know before. Maybe it’s because I’m a visual person I don’t know.

According to this article, the photo was included on Paul’s concert DVD ‘The Space Within Us’. Some speculated it was Eric Griffiths of the Quarrymen, but he was ousted from the group when George joined.
I agree it looks off.

Thank you for the correction! The resolution on the photo is so poor and the brightness/contrast so savage, it’s hard to make anything out. But now that I look at it more closely, it does seem that the light source is similar on all four figures, and the hair of the mystery man could plausibly be 50s. It looked 80s New Wave to me. 🙂
Yes, the kid’s new wave hair is what looks out of place to me. Some people think there was a very modern look about Stuart as well, despite the James Dean comparisons.
